Star of reality shows like Tiny House, Brother vs. Brother, and My Big Family Renovation Jen Hatmaker filed for divorce from her husband of over 20 years in August 2020. After more than a year of dating, the HGTV star, media personality, and author of For the Love ended her relationship with pastor Brandon Hatmaker, with whom she co-founded the Austin New Church and Legacy Collective. Finally, Jen has found someone new. At the beginning of 2022, she shared that she was dating Tyler Merritt.

Jen Hatmaker announced on Instagram that she is dating comedian, singer, and actor Tyler Merritt, who has appeared in films including Ordinary Joe, Swagger, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As early as February of 2022, she shared an online photo of the two of them.
“My name is Tyler, and this is my dad. Back around the beginning of November, we happened to meet each other in New York. He went to stake his claim on existence. I found myself inadvertently immersed in the action. At this point, he is so miraculously significant to me that I want to laugh out loud whenever I think about him. “Jen tagged the Instagram photo with a caption. “Finally, the appropriate person showed up. Please share in our joy; we’ve earned it.”
Jen’s social media has been updated since she first revealed her relationship status. A vacation to Louisville, Kentucky that Jen and Tyler took in March 2022 appears to have been a huge success (and ate lots of good food).
On Tuesday, April 5, 2022.2, Jen gave her Instagram followers an update on the status of her relationship with Tyler.
“In just three days, he got to know my entire family: my kids, my parents, my siblings, my SIL and nephews, my best friends, their husbands, and my Legacy crew. We took him on a golf cart ride while singing some of his favorite country songs from the ’90s. With his assistance, two separate dinner events for 60 guests were a success. At @lindseyforreal’s and his birthday parties, he improvised a rap “Author: Jen.
“My mother and sister were moved to tears by his speech in honor of a cancer survivor. He was amenable to questions both nights; the first one began, “Jen and Tyler, I am a marriage and sex therapist,” and so on “she elaborated “Pictures were taken, books were signed, and toasts were made, but he stayed up much past his bedtime because he had discovered that my people don’t go home; they go out onto the porch. If my expression isn’t obvious, I’ll consider myself lucky. Plus joyful.”

In 1992, Jen and Brandon met each other at Oklahoma Baptist University. A year after they got together, they tied the knot and had five children: Sydney Beth, Ben, Gavin, Remy, and Caleb. They may or may not have finalized their divorce.
The fact that Jen and Tyler appear to be thriving gives us great joy. The happy pair deserves a toast!
