Amber filed for divorce from Johnny in late May 2016, accusing him of physical abuse and obtaining a temporary restraining order. She added that he has had a long-held and widely acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse and that he has a short fuse. The court documents included photos of facial injuries after an alleged altercation with Johnny, who denied the claims of domestic violence. He stated she was trying to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse through his representative.
August 2016: A divorce settlement of $7 million is reached.
A divorce settlement was reached in court on Aug. 16, 2016, after Amber dropped her request for a domestic violence restraining order. The American Civil Liberties Union and Children’s Hospital will receive $7 million as part of Johnny’s divorce settlement, according to TMZ.
